BNJ - Blue Nexus Journal
Inspiring Blue-Literate Communities Through Education, Innovation & Collaboration
Blue Nexus Journal is a quarterly publication dedicated to showcasing cross-sector partnerships that empower young people and their communities with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to foster sustainable relationships with the ocean and inland water systems. Rooted in the principles of Blue Literacy, the journal brings visibility to projects where schools collaborate with researchers, businesses, NGOs, public bodies, and media actors to co-create solutions to environmental challenges faced in the Baltic Sea Region — those aligned with EU Missions such as Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030.
❉ Feature Articles: In-depth stories from blue school initiatives, including pedagogical innovations, citizen science efforts, and community-led restoration
❉ Project Spotlights: Summaries of funded educational projects with a strong multiple helix dimension — showcasing tools, digital platforms, and curricular integration
❉ Youth Perspectives: Contributions authored or co-authored by students sharing their experiences as Agents of Change in sustainability endeavors

Tools & Resources: Lesson plans, hackathon models, games, teacher training modules, and open data tools for use in classrooms and community labs.
Open-access, visually engaging - the journal serves as a dissemination hub for EU-funded education and ocean literacy projects — bridging grassroots action with high-level strategy while reinforcing the role of schools in the blue transformation.
